| Loi Kratong originated in the 15th century in the Sukothai era, then Thailand’s capital north of Bangkok. Partner and Office Manager Amporn Mongkun is from Pichit, a province halfway between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, i.e., the heart of Loi Kratong Country. Every year on the actual Loi Kratong, Amporn does it right, wearing traditional garb, singing and dancing, and casting an unreal Kratong onto the waters of a Phang Nga Hong. |
