| This beautiful baby is the World’s most highly endangered crocodile. Crocodylus Mindorensis, the Philippine Freshwater crocodile. There are less than 100 left in the wild – zoologists estimate about 70. Wild populations dropped dramatically in the past decade. In 1995, there may have been up to 1,000 specimens in the wild. Today, the estimate is 70, so the next ten years will decide of this animal survives or becomes extinct. There is no reason for extinction except exploitation by humans. |
