Philippine Crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis)
Philippine Crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis)
Location: Puerto Princessa, Palawan, Philippines
Crocodylus mindorensis have 66-68 teeth. This one has 66 in 33 sets, 18 on the top and 15 on the bottom. You can just see the “nuchal” scales at the back of the mindorensis neck on the right hand side. Crocodile scalation varies, so specimens may have 3-6 “nuchals, but it’s these nuchals that identify juvenile mindorensis.
