| Exploring an island in Ha Long Bay's "Maze", I noticed a pinprick of light in a waterline. I came back at the perfect time to enter a long needle cave — the tide ploughed down the tube with great force when it first entered the cave. Luckily, I slide with under an oyster hotel around a blind right turn, right into this current.
Cuong, SeaCanoe Vietnam lead guide, paddles against this awesome current to return through the cave. The rocks and cave are sharp and encrusted with oysters. Not too many paddlecraft that can handle this situation...and win. (See the full story and photos in the SeaCanoe Vietnam section.)
