| Everybody loses their breath at the first look of Papalaua Valley, even Amporn on the Hurricane John Trip. Granted, this shot is in the lee of Haka’a’ano Point where the waves are not same as the stormy open sea, but the winds were blowing up a lot of chop and Amporn could still take pictures.
The day before was insane, endless hurricane conditions with huge seas, heavy winds and plenty of chop. Submerged half the time, our inflatables stayed upright, bounced like corks, and still navigated down the Koolau Moloka’i coast.
