Taveuni Storm Falls
Taveuni Storm Falls
Location: Lavena, , Taveuni, Fiji
What do you do when a tropical storm cancels your waterfall hike? Why notgo sea kayaking! That's what we did during this Millenium Squall with Tom "Waterfall Man" Dougherty. Once we launched off the reef — no easy task in heavy surf — we paddle around the corner to our intended waterfall hike. The banks were overflowing and the vanyon under water, so we paddled down the boast. See the full story in the Fiji Taveuni slide show. For now, imagine us bouncing like a cork, miles down current, enjoying a sight dew people will ver see. It's for sure no responsible boat captain would venture into these seas in similar weather — and the place is so remote we've never seen a boat or even a light at night, These waterfalls go all the time, but this day was special.
