Colugo (Flying Lemur) Cynocephalus variegates
Colugo (Flying Lemur) Cynocephalus variegates
Location: Kathu, Phuket, Thailand
The webbed feet are beautiful in this shot, with the back feet spread like a swim fin, and the folds between the toes as they climb the wicker basket. When I researched the Colugo and understood its delicate diet, I knew I had to get the animal back into the wild immediately – with its family. Every day in captivity is a day of energy loss, a serious matter in small mammals and infants/juveniles. In “nutrition” cases, the rehab issue becomes how much strength can the animal lose in s lengthy rehab before it becomes too weak to release?
