| Here's how the other companies live — wait to get in and out and spend five minutes in a Hong because they don't know Nature interpretation anyway. I took this morning shot while taking kayak outfitter friends on a circumnavigation of the Bay in 1999.
We tried showing our friends just one Hong, knowing we had only five minutes before the rising tide filled the caves — in our low-profile Sotars. A competitor (who also owns a speedboat company) followed in their Korean river kayaks, guaranteeing a disaster in the cave. With those uplifted bows, 22 kayaks to our four, and no tidal knowledge – the entire group was pinned against the ceiling on a rapidly rising tide. We swam out — and rescued 38 people along the way. None of their guides spoke English so they couldn't tell them the cave was filling with water — all the way to the ceiling.
