| Amporn enjoys the view all the way up the Haloku Cliffs during the Hurricane John trip. Ironically, this was one of only four times I ever say the tops. Normally, the tradewind clouds hit the cliff at their consistent 3,000-foor ceiling. The other three times I’ve seen the tops were when there were no clouds at all – a rarity.
This is John+2 days and the wind is still 60 kph (40 mph), so Amporn protects her face with a T-shirt. Thanks to the Hurricane, Haloku waterfalls are running, rare in the summer months, but not this day.
The camera lens flattens the seas, but you can still see they are rough. Even so, the best is yet to come. |
