Philippine Crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis)
Philippine Crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis)
Location: Puerto Princessa, Palawan, Philippines
This shot focuses on the eye pattern, and the head armor of mindorensis. The jaw also details skin folds that allow crocs to open their jaws so wide. Even though these specimens are only juveniles, in the wild they have to fend for themselves from birth, although the mother mondorensis does show some supervision after birth.

In February, this hatch was babies, and even then, they had a fearsome bite. Baby teeth are razor sharp and a crocodiles bite is rarely a simply puncture wound. They love to twist and slash, leaving would far larger than their teeth.
