| The South China Sea slams into the outer edges of the Halong archipelago with tropical cyclones in the summer and heavy storms in the winter. When weather is good, we like to paddle the open water on the outer reaches of the Bay.
There's plenty of geology in this photo — the fluting comes from rainfall, there re several tidal napes, and heavy surf created the nape supporting the large fluted rock. The island itself shifted in relation to the sea several times. |
