| At the back of the Hong — and after the fallen mangroves — the Nipa Palms start, a sure indication of pure salt water turning brackish. At the far end of the Nipa colony, the water is too fresh to support mangroves, and they rapidly disappear. Only Nipa fruticans remains. The end is near. |
