| I finally got a quick shot off before the boar stuck its snout in my camera. It certainly wasn’t happy to be single even in a large cage, and it was a bit irritated I didn’t let it eat my camera.
The boar doesn’t understand, but outside the municipality, this pig doesn’t have much habitat left. There’s still range room left in Princessa’s jungles, but mining and logging takes its toll across the remainder of the bearded pigs’ habitat, and the species is listed as threatened due to loss of habitat. Squeezing Palawan’s sub-species ahoenobarbus into only the municipality creates the threat of encroachment hunting from the bordering municipalities. |
