He chose to dedicate his life to serving wildlife on a government salary, holding together a vital species rehabilitation project with less-than-necessary funding.
With a flair for stardom, Steve Irwin was born into a lifestyle based on public presentations of wildlife. He parlayed his enthusiasm and style into a worldwide wildlife movement. He did a great job of creating wildlife awareness at a crucial moment in history.
However, behind Steve, and Jeff, Brady, Mark and Austin are thousands of other stars, committed to continue the cause with little compensation or recognition, thousands of government or NGO workers and volunteer squeeze miracles out of sawdust.
